Three-dimensional treatment using the Schroth and SEAS approaches
Scoliosis Rehabilitation
Scoliosis rehabilitation is a physiotherapy process in which the three-dimensional curvature of the spine is assessed and an individual treatment plan is built. Treatment combines specific exercises, breathing techniques, postural education and adjustments to daily habits. Our clinic plans individual programmes using the Schroth and SEAS approaches.
Scoliosis is not simply a sideways bend of the spine; it is a three-dimensional curvature in which the spine also rotates around its own axis. Both assessment and treatment must therefore be approached in three dimensions.
The approaches we use
Rehabilitation programmes are planned individually using the Schroth (German school) and SEAS (Italian school) approaches. The content is determined by the type and degree of the curve, the person’s age and their stage of growth.
What does the programme include?
- Three-dimensional exercises specific to the type of curve
- Corrective breathing techniques
- Postural education and body-awareness work
- Adjustments to daily habits
Why follow-up matters
The course of scoliosis can change, particularly during periods of rapid growth. Regular follow-up allows the curve to be monitored and the programme to be revised in line with the current picture.
Where bracing is required, the rehabilitation programme is planned in coordination with the doctor overseeing treatment.

Frequently asked questions
01 Can scoliosis exercises be done at any age?
Scoliosis-specific exercise approaches can be used across different age groups, but the content of the programme changes with the type and degree of the curve, the stage of growth and the person’s goals. A detailed assessment therefore always comes first.
