Orthopaedic Rehabilitation
Pain and loss of function arising from muscle, joint, ligament, tendon and bone are assessed in depth, and an individually designed rehabilitation programme is delivered.
Orthopaedic rehabilitation begins with understanding which structure the pain is coming from, which movements make it worse, and how it is limiting your daily life. Because problems arising from muscle, joint, ligament, tendon and bone can produce very similar complaints, a treatment plan is only drawn up after a detailed clinical assessment.
What does the assessment cover?
- Where the pain is, what it feels like, how long it has lasted and what aggravates it
- Joint range of motion, muscle strength and flexibility measurements
- Movement quality and the contribution of neighbouring regions
- Your occupation, your sporting habits and the demands of your daily life
- Any imaging reports, interpreted alongside the clinical findings
How does the process unfold?
After the assessment, a programme is planned around you. It may combine manual therapy, individually selected exercises and adjustments to daily activity. The aim is not only to reduce the pain you have now, but to address its underlying cause so it does not return.
Progress is reassessed regularly throughout, and the programme is updated accordingly. At every stage we tell you what we are doing and why.
When should you come in?
If your pain has persisted for several weeks, keeps coming back, or is limiting your movement or your sleep, it is worth booking an assessment. Rehabilitation after surgery is also planned in coordination with your referring doctor.
